Mindfulness Meditation Training & Coaching

Discover the Power of the Present Moment

To explore the deeper roots and causes of both personal pain and well-being, I offer private mindfulness meditation coaching to clients who are interested.

The cultivation of mindfulness is the process of carefully paying attention to one’s thoughts and actions in an open, gentle and non-judgmental manner.

Mindfulness has been described as a form of “innate intelligence” which allows us to become more aware and attentive to the present moment. Another way to describe mindfulness is knowing what your doing when your doing it.

I often share this technique with clients by coaching them in the practice of mindfulness meditation. Through many years of my own mindfulness practice, I have seen the difference it has made in my own life, as well as the results in the lives of others who regularly practice it.

Observation and investigation of the present moment is at the heart of this practice.

This calm but alert attention lets us see more clearly how we carry ourselves in the world and affect those around us.

It helps develop wisdom as well as the insight into what leads to both inner suffering and peaceful well-being.

Our propensity to linger in either the past or in a perceived future can cloud the mind and lead to suffering. Through continued practice, we can become aware of our conditioning and therefore begin to live more fully in the present.  Being present naturally cultivates well-being.

Beginning Mindfulness Meditation

Practicing mindfulness meditation is a useful skill to develop mindfulness in your own life.

Mindfulness Meditation, or Insight Meditation as it is sometimes referred to, is a simple technique that had been practiced in Asia for over twenty-five hundred years.

One begins with the simple instruction of gently focusing attention on the breath. Over time, the mind becomes more concentrated and with a more concentrated mind, calmness and openness are a natural result.

Other benefits can include:

– Stress reduction
– Improved self-care
– Better regulation of emotions
– Lower blood-pressure
– Greater sense of humor
– Steadiness in the face of life’s inevitable challenges

Those who have discovered the benefits of mindfulness meditation and coaching are often pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of the practice. However, simplicity doesn’t not necessarily mean “easy.” That is why working with an experienced teacher who can help practitioners navigate the challenges that naturally arise can be useful.

“People want to be settled. Only insofar as they are unsettled is there any hope for them.”
